Breaking Rule #2 - (Subject in Focus)

I found this one a bit tricky. Trying to find a subject that worked for one, then creating an image that was worth looking at. Originally I wanted to have three images: foreground in focus (subject middle ground), subject in focus, background in focus (subject middle ground).

Even setting a shallow aperture my camera was not blurring the middle ground very well trying to capture the background area in focus. I ended up not posting this attempt because you can't really tell the difference.

Camera set in aperture priority mode at F4.5.
